The Kendall County GIS is currently a branch of the County's Technology Services Department. The role of the GIS Division is to coordinate and provide GIS services to Kendall County Departments, outside agencies, and the public, with responsibility in managing the hardware, software, data, maps, and interactive applications that encompass the entire GIS.

Many County Departments are benefiting from the tools provided utilizing GIS. A few current examples of how GIS is being implemented include: 

The Kendall County Forest Preserve - using GPS technology to plan and identify trails.

The Kendall County Health Department - mapping various types of well sites using GPS technology for accurate spatial representation.

The Kendall County Transportation Department - mapping sign inventory using GPS technology for accurate spatial representation.
